Who operates this line
The Southern Oregon Illegal Immigration Hotline is an independent community reporting line. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any government agency. It is operated by private volunteers.
What we collect
When you file a report online, we collect the information you enter into the report form, including:
- Incident information you provide (date, time, location, description, and related details)
- Your contact information (full name, phone number, email address, and preferred callback window)
- The photograph you attach as evidence
- The date and time of your submission
When you call the phone line, we receive the voicemail you leave, including any information and identifiers you choose to include in your message, and your caller ID where provided by your carrier.
How your information is used
Submissions are stored securely and reviewed by the private volunteers who operate this line. Your contact information may be used to reach you if reviewers need additional information about your report. We do not sell your information. We do not share, publish, or redistribute report contents, contact information, or photographs.
How long we keep it
Submissions — including report contents, contact information, and photographs — are retained only while needed for review and recordkeeping, and are deleted at the operators' discretion. Operators periodically purge stored submissions. If you would like a submission of yours removed, contact us with your reference number and we will delete it.
Security
Submissions are stored in an access-controlled, encrypted-at-rest database and a private storage bucket that is not publicly accessible. Access is limited to the operators of this line.
Photographs and metadata
Photographs uploaded through the online form are re-processed before storage. Location metadata (EXIF data) is removed during processing.
Children
This line is intended for use by adults. We do not knowingly accept reports filed by persons under 18 years of age.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
